This tutorial shows how to copy a course in Blackboard Learn Ultra, the version of the learning management system we’re running at Mid-America College of Health Sciences. The tasks was to copy an existing Practical Nurse class into a new one. What follows is a step-by-step account of how to do it so all the course materials and gradebook settings are copied into the new course.
To begin, log into your Blackboard Learn dashboard and click on the Admin tab. Under the Courses section, select the Courses link, then search for the course you wish to copy from. Once you’ve located the course, mouse over it and click on the options menu arrow. From the options menu, click on the Copy option.

On the next screen that opens, stick with the default Copy Type (Copy Course Materials into a New Course), then type in the new course ID. Click Submit.

Then on the screen that opens, be sure that all the check boxes checked in the next two images are checked. If there are any announcements from the previous class that need to be copied (ask the instructor), then also select Announcements.

If there are any groups in the last class, ask the instructor if the group settings need to be copied. If yes, also select Group Settings

Under Course Files, select the radio button shown here, then optionally click the Calculate package size button. Finally, click Submit.

In the new course, make the changes you can make yourself (enrolling students and the course start and end dates, for example). The instructor will need to make other changes, so be sure to send a notification to the instructor well before the course starts.
